Living the Question

Tensions had slowly been building over the span of the afternoon. I wasn’t getting the space I needed to process a lot things on my mind. There were miscommunications stacking on top of each other, fueling the feeling of disconnection as I felt increasingly misunderstood and isolated in my inner chambers. Plans to connect were feeling more and more repulsive as I retreated behind my walls of protection.

As I stood across the kitchen from my beloved, feeling stuck and agitated and mentally grasping for justification for my grump, I felt the ragging inner conflict bubble up and churn in my mind. I’m not sure what triggered this new thought….

——————————————————————————

I can choose.

How do I want to show up right now?

What would it look like for me to show up fully present, fully connected to my heart?

What does the mask that I wish to wear look like?

What expression of Self do I wish to project.

Do I want to be a tyrant high-chair king or the considerate abundant King?

What expression of Love can I bring to the present?

What would it look like for me to open my heart fully to all that is?

What frequency do I want to resonate with?

Which pendulum do I choose to ride? I have to choose one, but I get to choose.

There are many Ways to bring words to this question

In each present moment, I have the opportunity to bring this Question to life.

I’ve found myself with such a death-grip on life, trying to coerce answers, solutions, order out of it’s complex swirling web. So much energy is spent on using my mind’s attention on crafting answers for how to live, how to get what I want, to experience what I desire to experience, the depth, the richness, the connection, the stillness & ease, the empowered being that I imagine comes from risen above all the shit that gets slung.

The German poet, R.M.Rilke writes, “…I would like to beg you dear Sir, as well as I can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”

We either feel lost because we can’t resign ourselves to a limited body of knowledge, a religion, philosophy…..or we delude ourselves by thinking we’ve arrived at Truth.

We’re blind to the rare opportunity we have to ask questions and to seek. We have this glimmering opportunity to look at things from an infinite degree of angles and possibilities…our mind’s attention is the only limit to what we can experience.

We ensure our stagnation when we need to know, when we outsource the cultivation of knowledge and wisdom to others.

————————————————————————————-

Without hesitation, I move in with fiery passion and connected with my beloved. Because I choose to connect. I choose to express my True Self to my lover. The part that matters to me and to our Union, the part that looks for opportunities to break through my mind’s walls of protection. Now, I allow. Now, I can ask what love’s expression looks like right now. Always, right now.

I can bring presence, attention, mindfulness, self-knowledge, authenticity, curiosity, and balance to every moment…The more frequently I can ask the question, the more consistently and easily my mind is invited into things of the Higher. Things the soul craves, spaces that my mind (and experiential reality) has been veiled from.

Questions can illuminate the Path, if we allow them to. Release the mind’s death grip on seeking answers & cultivate a question that connects the swirling potential of the mind with your deep heart’s desires. Bridge the gap between Inner & Outer. Bring the question that breeds Self-knowledge and Liberation into the present moment and choose the mask you wish to wear. Remember, dear one, you always have the choice to create yourself in each moment. You are free from stories, past and future. ‘Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.’
